Nightswim is not driven by green dollar bills but striving for real change by cultivating a movement of conscious consumerism. As a brand, its focus on high quality and meticulously developed, slow batch apparel are in all parts methodical and mindful through every aspect of the creative process.
Every story starts with a location. For FIDM alumni, Diana Ganem it was a culmination of contrasting landscapes: the rugged mountainous terrain and wide river valleys of Chihuahua; the southwest town of “sun city” El Paso; the sprawling metropolis of Los Angeles and warm tropical nights in Costa Rica. The Latina owned brand creates beach apparel that is produced ethically in Downtown Los Angeles using AZO-free dyes and digital printing.
Nightswim is the result of more than 2 years or research, testing, developing and strategizing how to apply principles of eco and ethical design to bring you a collection that cares about the environment as much as we care about you.
The project of building the Nightswim brand was an initiative to reshape the way we look at fashion.
QUARANTINE COLLECTION
Pausa was developed during quarantine in Costa Rica, where the simplicities of life became apparent and full of gratitude. As the world came to a halt, there was a new and truer meaning to appreciating the pause. Holistic acts such as hanging clothes to dry, grinding coffee beans, cooking dinners and listening to the sounds of nature. The new collection truly reflects nature in its purest form.
Diana has once again used organic cotton and recycled P.E.T French terry fabric, which serves as an absorbent element to use near the water for relaxing days at the beach while the silhouettes are lounge-inspired.
Nightswim has introduced Cupro to its new collection – a recovered cellulose fiber made from cotton linter that would otherwise be discarded due to its small size. It’s a more sustainable option to our existing rayon challis.
