She holds a Degree in Law. She is unapologetically bold. She is an African artist with a cult following. Her eponymous brand and jewelry collection has been styled on Vogue Italia editor-in-chief, Franca Sozzani; Kenyan media queen, Patricia Amira; TV presenter, Sheila Mwanyigha; fashion stylist and presenter, Annabel Onyango; and radio presenter, Caroline Mutoko. An experience she felt most privileged to contribute to was a collaboration with Salvatore Ferragamo for the Bags for Africa project.
Born and raised in Nigeria and upon graduating college, Adéle realized that the Law was not her dream career. In 2000, she studied at London’s College of Communication as a typographer and in 2005, began creating jewelry for personal use. By then Adéle had relocated to Kenya and the materials she experimented with were horn and brass. It sounds exotic, right? A namesake brand was created to showcase her work that is today impressively stocked in boutiques on every continent.
Together with her female-strong team, the flagship showroom and workshop in Nairobi are adorned in brass, leather and other high-end materials that have been repurposed. The brand is sustainable and offers transparency about their inner practices and impact on both the community and environment.
Adéle has responded to global humanitarian crises
by partnering with a number of organizations to upskill, employ and regenerate refugee communities including UNHCR Australia and Mairo Retief.
Using natural talent for purpose – and conversation-starter jewelry plays a great lead to advocate equality and climate regeneration.
